The Junior Logging Conference at Mendocino Woodlands April 1953 visits the redwood thinning plot at Jackson State Forest and listened to a description of the experimental work by George Rau in charge of the forest. Oldest trees are about 70 years but plot contains about four age classes of sprouts.
