Tree growth in Modoc County. The main timber species are western yellow and Jeffrey pines, Incense cedar and white fir with scattering Douglas fir and sugar pine in favored locations. The Sierra Juniper is scattered in all of the drier situations and is the only tree towards the east except for scrubby species of which the mountain mahogany and service berry are the most common.
