Description

California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP)
Promotional film created by the San Jose Department of Recreation in the 1950s. Various park activities are depicted, including a watermelon feed, Easter egg hunt, football, playing marbles, and flying kites. The film advertises "complete sports for boys and girls," featuring swimming lessons, resident nurse, maintenance of pool and sprinklers, first aid program for adults. Results of the Willow Park Improvement program are highlighted, including a baseball field and pool improvements.
