California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP)
Two reels of the San Diego Wild Animal Park, focusing on the arrival of Arabian Oryx to the zoo. Both reels include sequences of zookeepers unloading the oryx from their crates and releasing them into their habitat. Various sequences of zookeepers taking blood samples from oryx and tagging them. Footage of technicians on-site collecting samples into test tubes interspersed with shots of oryx in habitat. Additional images of oryx in habitat are interspersed with those of other animals: birds, tortoise, baby and adult rhinoceros, giraffes, monkeys, gorilla. Children in petting zoo. Flowers.
