California Preservation Service (CAPS)
After completing boot camp for the US Army, Rudolph Estrada (photo donor's brother, also known as Rudy) returned home before being deployed to Germany during World War II. Rudolph is the one on the right and next to him is Manuel Vicuña. The picture was taken at the Aviles house in the Belvedere area of East Los Angeles. They are standing outside and are both wearing their military uniforms. This image was provided by Ofelia Esparza for inclusion in the Foto East LA collection.
