Description

California Preservation Service (CAPS)
Crocker partnered with Leland Stanford, Collis Potter Huntington and Mark Hopkins to form the Central Pacific Railroad Company on June 27, 1861. The ""Big Four"" made the dream of a trans-Sierra Nevada railroad a reality with the joining of the Central Pacific and Union Pacific rails at Promontory Point, Utah, on May 10, 1869.
