California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP)
Martha Mills was born in 1914 at Manzanar when it was an orchard community. In their home orchard, the family grew apples, pears, apricots, peaches, and plums. She has fond memories of community life there. Her family lived in Manzanar until 1934 when they moved to Lone Pine. Her interview is full of recollections of Owens Valley individuals and geography.
