California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP)
Oral interview with Joe Radel, born 1911, resident of Bishop. Recording contains information about the history of recreation in the Eastern Sierra, specifically Mammoth Mountain Ski area, Inyo National Forest Service Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center, and the establishment of the White Mountain Bristlecone Preserve. Also addresses the development of wilderness areas in the Eastern Sierra and additional national recreation areas in the West. Time period covers 1940s through 1960s.
