California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP)
Interview with former Federal Telegraph Company engineer Adrian L. Anderson, conducted July 25, 1963, at Douglas Perham’s residence in New Almaden, California. Anderson was born in Santa Cruz, California, in 1891, and was living in San Francisco at the time of the 1906 earthquake, which he describes in the interview. He studied mechanical engineering at Stanford University, and was hired by Federal Telegraph Company in 1916 while still in school. He taught at Montezuma High School in Los Gatos for a period in 1920. He left Federal to work for Standard Oil Company, retiring to Saratoga, California, in 1953. This recording is part of the Perham Collection of Early Electronics.
