The chimney of the old Benett House near Durham, North Carolina which Generals Sherman and Johnston met in the three conferences in April 1865 which resulted in the final agreement by which the last confederate troops laid down their arms. It is now a North Carolina State Park and the monument typifying Unity was erected in 1892.
