Maps were digitized from the paper collection of the Earth Sciences and Map Library, University of California-Berkeley for a Web based pilot project.
Contain 359 U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps (15 and 7.5-minute quadrangles) which were scanned by the National Mapping Division at 800 dpi and converted into MrSid format file at a compression ratio of 40:1.
Scale of maps vary, 1:62,500, 1:31,689, and 1:24,000.
