Tents in a redwood forest.
This black-and-white landscape photograph captures several white canvas tents pitched in a dense redwood forest. The tents, which vary in size and shape, are scattered across a forest floor covered in low-lying vegetation and leaf litter. Towering redwood trunks with thick, vertically-textured bark rise straight up from the ground, filling the frame and disappearing into the high forest canopy. Patches of sunlight filter through the dense branches, creating high-contrast areas of light and shadow on the tent surfaces and the tree trunks. To the left of the photograph, a vertical color and grayscale calibration target is included within the archival scan.
