Probably taken from the valley of the Flathead River, looking east toward the pass in the Rocky Mountains that would ascend toward Kintla Lake. The approach to the pass is described by Dr. David Lyall in the Journal of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society, v.7, 1663, p. 130.
