Description
A black-and-white historical photograph from circa 1905 depicts the interior of a well-stocked grocery store. Two women, Anna L. Ogden and Bertha Bossel, stand behind a long, light-colored wooden L-shaped counter that runs across the center of the frame. Both women have dark hair pulled back and wear dark, long-sleeved dresses or blouses. To the left of the counter, several large wooden crates are stacked on the floor; one is clearly labeled "HUNT, HATCH & CO. CALIFORNIA" and another features the words "HEALTH FOOD." Signs and brand names are visible on the shelves, including a prominent advertisement for "TETLEY’S Teas" on the far left wall. The floor appears to be made of dark wood planks, and the ceiling is composed of narrow wooden slats. A color calibration strip and a metric ruler are positioned along the bottom edge of the photo for archival reference.
