Description

This black-and-white historical photograph captures an indoor assembly within a large auditorium featuring tiered balcony seating in the background. In the left foreground, a man in a dark suit stands on a slightly elevated platform or stage, facing a group of approximately fifteen seated men. These seated men are arranged in two rows, all wearing dark suits and facing toward the right of the frame. The man standing appears to be addressing the group. Along the right side of the auditorium, a large American flag is partially visible, draped vertically. A grayscale calibration strip is positioned vertically along the far-left edge of the photograph's frame. Above the image, white text on a black background reads, "Frederick J. Koster addressing Law and Order meeting at Civic Auditorium, Wed. July 26 16 [i.e. 1916]."
