Description

This sepia-toned stereograph features two nearly identical photographs mounted side-by-side on a rounded, orange-colored cardstock. The photographs depict a wide waterfall cascading over a dark, rocky cliff into a riverbed filled with large boulders and mist in the foreground. The water flows from a flat ledge at the top of the cliff, spreading out as it falls. Dense evergreen trees and scattered foliage are visible on the rocky slopes surrounding the falls. The orange mount includes vertical text on the left margin that reads "AMERICAN SCENERY," and on the right margin, it reads "C. L. POND, BUFFALO, N. Y.". At the bottom center of the mount, a printed caption in orange text reads: "705—Nevada Falls, 713 feet high. Yo Semite Valley, California.".
