Description

A black-and-white photograph shows a large, neoclassical building with a prominent central dome and a tiered facade. The structure features a long row of Corinthian columns supporting a formal portico, with a pediment positioned below the base of the tall, ribbed dome which is topped by a small cupola and a flagpole. To the left of the building, a very tall, dark coniferous tree stands in the foreground, reaching nearly the height of the dome. Manicured lawns and several smaller palm trees sit at the base of the structure, and a wide stone staircase with a decorative banister is visible in the lower right corner. A vertical "KODAK GRAY SCALE" and color calibration strip are positioned along the left edge of the image. Small white text at the bottom center of the photograph reads: "6195 State Capitol, Sacramento, Cal." To the right of this, additional text reads: "Taber Photo, San Francisco."
