Description

This black-and-white historical photograph depicts a street corner featuring a three-story masonry building with severe earthquake damage. The building’s upper-left corner and a large section of its third-floor facade have collapsed, leaving the interior structure exposed and the roofline jagged. The ground floor remains largely intact, showing large glass storefront windows under a dark, slightly damaged awning, where two people in dark clothing stand on the sidewalk. To the left, a smaller, single-story building with the word "GROCERY" visible on its facade remains standing. Numerous utility poles with complex crossarms and wires line the street to the right of the main building. Handwritten white cursive text in the bottom left corner reads, "Lomas Drug Store, Santa Barbara Quake, June 29-25," and "Rick S.B." is written in the bottom right corner.
