Dr. Joseph David Joseph (1868-1922) was born in Qarajalu, a village north of the market town of Urmia, Iran to David Joseph and Nargis Eshoo Delacof. This collection contains two journals belonging to Joseph David Joseph. The journals recount Joseph's medical school education in Minnesota, his time living in New York and Santa Clara County, California, and his marriage to his wife, Bertha. The journals also describe the couple's return to Joseph's homeland, Qarajalu in Iranian Azerbaijan, including detailed descriptions of the construction of their home in the village.
