Dr. Joseph David Joseph (1868-1922) was born in Qarajalu, a village north of the market town of Urmia, Iran to David Joseph and Nargis Eshoo Delacof. This collection contains letters sent to Dr. Joseph David Joseph from family and others between 1889 and his death in 1922. The letters document the lives of Assyrian immigrants in the United States and their relations with their families and communities in Iran. The bulk of the correspondence is in Assyrian neo-Aramaic.
