"The inspiration for this book came from the small town American pastime of hanging out at train tracks. As a youth I spent much of my time with friends walking along train tracks waiting for the excitement of one to chug along. It occurred to me that this activity was not specific to my childhood but common to many who lived in small or forgotten towns. A train rolling through town reminded us that there was still life beyond the desolate place we called home and that there an exit was just as real as the entrance. Stagnant Land is a nod to those who have the courage to leave as as those who stay."--Artist statement.
Limited edition of 4 copies titled and initialed in pencil by the artist.
