Nap Hosang was the first director of UC Berkeley's online Master's of Public Health (MPH) program. After graduating from medical school in Jamaica in 1976, he worked as an obstetrician/gynecologist for several years before obtaining his master's degree in public health from UC Berkeley in 1984 and joining the School of Public Health as a faculty member in 1989. In 2010, following his retirement from clinical practice, Hosang was recruited to help create UC Berkeley's online MPH degree program. In this interview, Hosang discusses his career in public health, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the online MPH program.
