Deborah Barnett is the current director of the UC Berkeley School of Public Health On-campus/Online Masters of Public Health program. Barnett completed her doctorate in developmental biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1995 and took a teaching position at the University of Alaska, where she worked on developing accessible curriculum and online learning programs. She later transferred to UC Berkeley as a student in the School of Public Health before being offered a position at the university as the online instructional coordinator. In this interview, Barnett discusses her research interests, teaching and education accessibility efforts in Alaska, her experience in the School of Public Health, and her thoughts on online education.
