Granted by Pico (1) Feb. 21, 1846, provisionally, and (2) in fee May 30, 1846, to Felipe Castillo; 3 leagues, by name. Claim filed by Juan Forster Nov. 6, 1852. Confirmed by the Board May 22, 1855. Confirmed by the District Court Feb. 23, 1857; appeal dismissed June 4, 1857. Patent issued to Juan Forster Aug. 6, 1866, for 9,972.08 acres. The patent is recorded in San Diego. No. 511 General Land Office map. This grant was also called San Felipe. The land had been granted probably in 1833 or 1834 to Luis Arenas and confirmed by the Departmental Assembly July 8, 1834; it was sold to Castillo shortly before the latter wrote his petition for the grant.
