Description
Why photograph cities when we have Google Earth? What does an artist’s perspective bring to the conversation? Janet Delaney has been photographing in urban settings both near and far for three decades. By approaching this subject through the lens of fine art documentary photography Delaney brings an awareness of both form and content. She has made an extensive record of the South of Market / SoMa neighborhood in San Francisco and she has photographed cities in Europe, Asia and North America. Her photographs hold time still so that we can slow down and take a closer look at the way we live in the built environment.
