Text on the construction of the 19th century iron and glass market hall designed by Baltard which had a great influence on structural design, with some mathematical calculations and text illustrations from measured drawings. Plates show a perspective view, plans, elevations, sections, numerous architectural details and some technical drawings of water and gas conduits.
