Granted by Alvarado Jan. 27, 1840, to Jose Antonio Romero; 1 league, by description, in exchange for Plan de Tucho. Claim filed by James Meadows Feb. 10, 1853. Confirmed by the Board Mar. 14, 1854. Confirmed by the District Court Jan. 13, 1857; appeal dismissed Feb. 2, 1858. Patent issued to James Meadows Aug. 9, 1866, for 4,591.71 acres. The patent is recorded in Salinas, Monterey County. No. 284 General Land Office map. This grant was also sometimes called Plan de Tucho which had been exchanged for it. Exp. 336 implies, on June 25, 1833, that the land had been abandoned by Tomaso Pacheco because it was part of the ejidos of San Carlos. Bowman, J.N.
