Granted by Alvarado Apl. 8, 1837, and Mar. 21, 1840, to Diego Olivera and Teodoro Arellanes; about 7 leagues, by name. Claim filed by Diego Olivera and Teodoro Arellanes Feb. 24, 1852. Confirmed by the Board Dec. 6, 1853. Confirmed by the District Court Sept. 24, 1855; appeal dismissed Feb. 5, 1857. Patent issued to Diego Olivera and Teodoro Arellanes (1) June 30, 1866, for 32,408.03 acres, and (2) Mar. 1, 1870, for the whole claim of 43,681.15 acres. The patent is recorded in Santa Barbara and in San Luis Obispo. The patent was cancelled June 12, 1872, but the cancellation was revoked Apl. 24, 1873. No. 353 General Land Office map. In Santa Barbara County 23,513.16 acres; in San Luis Obispo County 20,167.99 acres. The above date of dismissal is that of the Minute Book; it differs from some of the references in later court papers. Bowman, J.N.
