Description
"The World Was Written In Clay: Edith Heath and the Evolution of Heath Ceramics" While many people are familiar with the material output of Heath Ceramics, fewer are aware of the company's backstory, and specifically the complex nature of the woman at the helm of such an enduring brand: Edith Heath. Jennifer Volland is working on an exhibition that seeks to make connections between the historical archives and the more ubiquitous sides of consumption and production, constructing a new narrative about a company that rode the post-war wave of innovative design and struggled to maintain relevance in the constantly changing American landscape.
