Appeal dismissed by the District Court Feb. 2, 1857. Patent issued to Jasper O'Farrell Feb. 3, 1858, for 8,849.13 acres. The patent is recorded in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. No. 28 General Land Office map. The petition for juridical possession states that the grant of Cañada de Maiz had been made in 1838. This area was also called Maiz Esteros. Bowman, J.N.
