Granted by Pico Nov. 7, 1845, to Pablo and José Apis, Indians; 2 leagues by name. Claim filed by Jesús Machado Apis et al July 22, 1884, by permission of a congressional act of Jan. 28, 1879. The claim was entered in the Northern District Court but was transferred to the Southern District Feb. 6, 1896. Rejected by the District Court Feb. 21, 1898. The grant was recognized as valid, but under the act of 1879, permitting the presentation of the claim, it was rejected because no possession of the land was proven as of the date of the act.
