Under blacklight, clear rot and other defects glow so that the fruit can be easily detected and removed, Exeter-Ivanhoe Citrus Sunkist packing house. During the freeze of January 2007, researchers discovered that freeze damaged fruit could be identified under blacklights (460 nanometers). December 15, 2006.
