Recollections of family life in San Francisco; her study of art and friendships with various artists, including Gottardo Piazzoni and Ralph Stackpole; her portrait painting and poetry; marriage to Ansley Salz; social life; her part in establishing Presidio Open Air School in San Francisco; formation of the Northern California Branch of the American Civil Liberties Union in 1934 with Alexander Meiklejohn.
