This program is an "audio scrapbook" of the first National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, which took place on October 14, 1979. The program weaves together Interviews and sound clips from the parade, including footage that was recorded on the train journey from Oakland to D.C. Among the highlights of the program is an argument between the Reverend Troy Perry of Los Angeles' Metropolitan Community Church, the first Christian church to explicitly reach out to the LGBT community, and the conservative, anti-gay Reverend Robin L. Harris, the first black elected official in Utah who laid out on the tracks trying to block the train's progress. (The last ten minutes suffer from some audio problems.)
