Description

Pictorial relief from the rear wall of the Left Chamber of the Wu Family Shrines, Jiaxiang, Shandong. Here, the right portion of the wall, three registers of relief depicting a group of four figures, one of them prone on the ground and evidently being attacked by another of the group; Jing Ke's 荊軻 attempted assassination of Qin Shihuangdi 秦始皇帝 (r. 246-210 B.C.), then king of Qin; below that, Fu Xi 伏羲 and Nü Wa 女媧.
