Description

Bronze mirror of the TLV type; cast, according to its inscription, by the Wang clan. The mirror resembles mirrors dating to the Xin dynasty of Wang Mang 王莽 (r. 9-23), but may be a Song forgery.
外環詞作“王氏昭竟四夷服，多賀新家人民息，官位尊顯天下復，風雨常節五穀孰，長保二親子孫力，傳吉後世樂極”，四十二字。內環銘為子丑寅等十二辰字。鏡右方有模糊印記作“蘇州□家造”，左方有一“曹”，疑此為宋仿新鏡。
