Description

Rubbings of a tiger tally cast for official use in Yarong commandery during the Xin dynasty of Wang Mang 王莽 (r. 9-23). Includes rubbings of both sides of one half of the tally, and of the textual inscription running down the tiger's spine.
器舊藏吳大澂。此拓為虎符右半內外兩面拓。銘文兩行。一在虎背，計11字，皆半文；一在虎身，5字，全文。
