Description

Votive inscription concerning dedication of an image of Sakyamuni by the devotee Shi Jie, on behalf of his late father, Shi Qian 時阡, at Qianfo shan, Shandong, during the Kaihuang era (581-600). This rubbing includes an engraving of the Avalokitesvara-mantra (Daming zhou 大明咒) directly above the votive inscription: "Om mani padme hum" 唵嘛呢叭咪哞.
有趙之謙簽題作“大明咒”。
