Description

Stele inscription from the synagogue at Kaifeng, Henan, containing a brief account of the origin and transmission of the Torah and an exhortation to hold its teachings in reverence. (Verso of the "Chongjian Qingzhen si ji" 重建清真寺記 stele.) Includes rubbing of top of stone, with title inscription and ornament in relief.
