Description

Inscription from the rim of Su Shi's "snow billows" basin. While serving as prefect of Dingzhou 定州 during the Shaosheng era (1094-98), Su found a rock whose venation resembled billows of snow; he had the rock worked into a basin and the lip of the basin inscribed with this short account of his find. This rubbing taken from a later recarving.
盆外徑127.8，內徑93公分。與《北京圖書館藏中國歷代石刻拓本滙編》藏本同。吳式芬考証云：原刻久為妄人鏟去，今所存者乃後人重書。
