Description

Stele inscription by Su Shi concerning Huailian 懷璉 (also known as Dajue 大覺), master of the Chan sect, his eminence as a teacher of the dharma, and his residence at Chenggui ge; in the calligraphy of Su Shi. This rubbing taken from the Wanli (1573-1620) recarving of Cai Guiyi. Includes title inscription.
前四頁為篆額“宸奎閣碑銘”五字。拓本經剪裁裱裝後脫三十字，恰合兩頁。此拓無明蔡貴易重刻題記。或係裝裱時剔除。按此碑原石已佚，傳本為明萬曆中蔡貴易據天一閣元翻刻本重刻者。
