Description

Stele inscription commemorating construction of the Wan'an Bridge, begun during the Huangyou era (1049-54) and completed in 1059; construction of the stone bridge was undertaken by Cai Xiang, prefect of Quanzhou 泉州, Lu Xi 盧錫, and other members of the local gentry. This rubbing represents that part of the inscription engraved on the second stone (of two) only.
