Description
The "Sanzang shengjiao xu," Tang Taizong's preface concerning the Xuanzang's 玄奘 (ca. 596-664) translations of Buddhist sutras from the Tripitaka; originally in the calligraphy of Chu Suiliang. This rubbing taken from a slightly later engraving (based on a traced copy of the original) executed in Tongzhou during the Longshuo era (661-63).
拓本末八頁為壬辰年(1832)，日人刻題記三。一為蔣塘大竹，一為詩佛大漥(1767-1837)，一為卷菱湖(1767-1843)。此本依諸題跋之年月，知應刻在日本天保三年，即清道光十二年(1832)。
