Description

Inscription by Tang Gaozong concerning the "Sanzang shengjiao xu," Tang Taizong's 太宗 (r. 627-49) preface concerning Xuanzang's 玄奘 (ca. 569-664) translations of Buddhist sutras from the Tripitaka; originally in the calligraphy of Chu Suiliang. This rubbing taken from a slightly later engraving (based on a traced copy of the original) executed in Tongzhou during the Longshuo era (661-63).
碑文原為左行。序與序記同刻於一石。1974年移入西安碑林。
