Description

Inscription from the Jinci, the shrine outside Taiyuan dedicated to Shu Yu 叔虞 (fl. 1024-1005 B.C.); the inscription was composed and copied out by Tang Taizong while visiting the shrine to offer sacrifice in 646. Title inscription only, in "flying white" script (feibaishu 飛白書). This rubbing taken from a later engraving based on the original.
