Description

Stone inscription from Langyatai, Shandong, one of six or seven inscriptions dating from Qin Shihuangdi’s 秦始皇帝 (r. 221–210 B.C.) tours to the east: with supplementary text and the names of attendant ministers added by Qin'ershi 二世皇帝. In the calligraphy of Li Si. The relative legibility of certain characters suggests an early Qing date for this rubbing. Previously in the collection of Shen Shuyong 沈樹鏞 (1832–73).
首行“五大夫”尚 存,“德”字未為泥封,鐵束依稀可見,應為明或清初拓本。印鑑有“尹彭□印”、“□□樓□□”及“沈樹鏞同治紀元後所得”等。曾歸沈樹鏞舊藏。
