Description

Inscription from the memorial pillar (que) of the Taishi peak of Songshan, Henan, commemorating sacrifices made to the spirit of the mountain. This rubbing includes the inscription preceding the title inscription (“Taishi que qianming” 太室闕前銘) only.
此號共含拓紙九張，內容均為嵩山三闕文字，較全拓本僅缺少室東闕江孟題名。此闕為左馮翊陽城長呂常所建，闕上有篆額，此銘在額之前，故又稱太室闕前銘。
