Rachel McDonald was born in Rochester, New York in 1945 and moved to California in 1967. She was a longtime employee for the East Bay Regional Park District who worked in various positions throughout her tenure. In this interview, she discusses her early life, decision to move to California, being a single mother, education, getting hired by the district, experience as the one of the first women in her role, her carpenters apprenticeship, moving into a supervisor role, her leadership style, and her decision to retire while she was a unit manager.
