Margaret Kelley was a California native who was born in Oakland. She spent much of her early life in and around nature and her first job was at Sequoia National Park. She went on to become a naturalist for the East Bay Regional Park District. In this interview, Kelley discusses her early life, education, developing her love for nature, realizing that she wanted to become a naturalist, her time working at the EBRPD, moving her way up the ranks, becoming the district’s first ever interpretive services manager, the Camp Arroyo project, specific parks within the district, an what her long career meant to her.
