Teos reports on the contents of a petition presented to the king and queen by a crown tenant.
Translation: From Teos, komogrammateus of Ptolemais Nea. (2nd hand) [I have received ?] the above petition which has been presented to Sarapion, one of the chief body-guard and strategos, by Petesouchos son of Semtheus, Crown cultivator, concerning the charges brought against him and Hermias son of Herakleides by Mestasutmis, an inhabitant of the village, who forwarded to Di[--], one of the chief body-guard and dioiketes, a … of the petition which he has and which was presented to the king and queen, wherein he declared that they had seized property of Harpaesis son of Thoteus, who had fallen childless, namely [1640] artabas of wheat, of which the value at 700 drachmas was 191 talents 2000 drachmas, and 600 dr. of coined silver and 7 talents of bronze and a house in the village worth 15 talents, and that they reaped the land which he cultivated consisting of 55 arouras and carried off as much as 1800 artabas of wheat, and other ...
